Lockheed MartinTitusville, FL
Onsite

About The Position

As a Production Industrial Engineer, you will drive improvements across manufacturing operations by analyzing data, optimizing processes, and leading initiatives that enhance production efficiency, throughput, and cost performance. You will work at the intersection of production, data, and engineering, partnering across functions to ensure manufacturing systems are designed and operating at peak performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience launching and scaling new production lines or factories
  • Experience with Discrete Event Simulation (DES) of production processes
  • Experience conducting process time studies and workflow analysis
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, capacity analysis, or production rate optimization
  • Experience developing/analyzing metrics and analyzing cost, schedule, and performance data
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Value Stream analysis experience identifying waste and bottlenecks in a production environment
  • Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Value Stream Mapping, process mapping, line balancing)
  • Proven ability to conduct ergonomic risk assessments to recommend and implement engineering controls and tool design improvements to minimize personnel risks
  • Experience developing Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) baselines for critical equipment in a production flow
  • Ability to lead Kaizen events to improve operational efficiency.
  • Experience applying SMED Concepts to CNC and CMM Changeovers
  • Experience executing ramp plans to increase production rates while maintaining quality and efficiency
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Facilities Engineering to support production line design, layout, and workflow optimization
  • Experience using production analytics and simulation tools (e.g., SAP, Apriso, VECAMS, Tableau, Simio)
  • Active Secret security clearance is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, root causes, and improvement opportunities
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and Industrial Engineering methods
  • Develop and apply discrete event simulation or similar modeling techniques to evaluate production scenarios and optimize system performance
  • Support production planning activities including capacity analysis, scheduling, and production rate optimization
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Facilities Engineering to support production line design, layout, and workflow optimization
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics related to cost, schedule, and throughput
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across production, engineering, supply chain, and program teams
  • Drive sustainable process improvements and ensure long-term adoption of solutions
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers as needed
