About The Position

The Production Hourly position at Pilgrim's emphasizes that safety is a primary condition for all team members. This role involves the hands-on processing of products using knives, tools, manual labor, and company-provided equipment, strictly adhering to FDA regulations and Pilgrim’s quality standards. Key responsibilities include following established operating procedures to meet quality and production expectations, monitoring equipment for malfunctions or safety concerns, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. The role also requires supporting team members, following all company policies related to personnel, safety, food safety, and quality, and contributing to a positive work environment through cooperative communication. Individuals are expected to identify and respond to safety risks, model safe work habits, and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow simple instructions.
  • Ability to apply common sense and sound judgment.
  • Ability to resolve routine problems involving a few concrete variables.
  • Ability to work in cold wet environments (approximately 40°F).
  • Ability to stand, use hands, and perform repetitive tasks for 8–12 hours per day.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to work in close proximity to other team members (within 3 feet).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good hand‑eye coordination.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous food production or manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process product using knives, tools, manual labor, and company‑provided equipment in accordance with FDA regulations and Pilgrim’s quality standards.
  • Follow established operating procedures to meet quality and production expectations.
  • Monitor equipment operation and promptly report any malfunctions, safety concerns, or unusual conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support team members by sharing knowledge and assisting as needed.
  • Follow all company policies related to personnel, safety, food safety, and quality.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by communicating and working cooperatively with co‑workers, leadership, and internal partners.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to safety risks; consistently model and reinforce safe work habits.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts using continuous improvement and problem‑solving methods.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines and polices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
