About The Position

This role provides operators with support and assistance to ensure efficient production and adherence to quality standards. The Production Group Leader is responsible for instructing operators, managing materials, performing mold setups, and collaborating with engineering to improve processes. The position also involves assisting with operator relief and maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to record, log and maintain records as per work instructions.
  • Ability to prepare reports as required.
  • Ability to instruct operators in proper molding techniques, procedures, product, quality requirements, and housekeeping.
  • Ability to provide support and assistance to operators to maintain efficiency and scrap standards.
  • Ability to ensure operators are supplied with all materials necessary to produce product.
  • Ability to set-up startup molds to established process parameters.
  • Ability to change cavities and inserts on molds as needed.
  • Ability to monitor material usage of rubber presses.
  • Ability to notify mill operator of material requirements.
  • Ability to calculate mixing and blending of rubber compounds needed.
  • Ability to cut rubber when needed.
  • Ability to report press breakdowns or malfunctioning problems to maintenance.
  • Ability to make minor repairs.
  • Ability to work with engineering to improve techniques, molds, process and the like.
  • Ability to assist in relieving press operators or other qualified production operations for lunch and breaks as directed.
  • Ability to observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Ability to exercise proper care and safety in the use of power tools, equipment and materials.

Responsibilities
