This role will start as an "Alternate" Group Lead and will be promoted to "Group Lead" upon completing the Group Lead Training Courses and meeting performance expectations. The Group Lead is responsible for productivity, quality, and continuous improvement within their assigned area. They will identify and remove obstacles that interfere with operator standard work, support daily production by containing and escalating problems, and drive continuous improvement through structured problem-solving. The role also involves developing and supporting quality initiatives, documenting problems for root cause analysis, and auditing operator standard work compliance. Additionally, the Group Lead will maintain the Tier-1 Continuous Improvement Board, direct daily work assignments, and establish visual management using tools like 5S. The position requires willingness to work overtime with little or no notice. In terms of people management, the Group Lead will run daily team meetings, work with peer leads to manage schedules, support consistent operator training, and provide situational leadership aligned with Polaris culture and values. This includes employee development, coaching, mentoring, and training new operators. The role emphasizes developing trust through fairness and confidentiality, and effective communication across all department levels. Ensuring a safe working environment and accommodating additional duties as assigned are also key responsibilities.
