About The Position

This role involves operating and overseeing various machines, performing quality control inspections, and troubleshooting operational issues. The Production Floater / QC Inspector will also be responsible for making process adjustments to improve efficiency and product quality, reading work orders to ensure specifications are met, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment through 6S functions. Additionally, this position requires assisting with machine maintenance, testing procedures, and contributing to a positive work environment through strong work ethic, teamwork, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The role also includes participating in shift change meetings and potentially operating forklifts.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Operate and oversee all machines, including starts, stops, cooling water controls, and adding blow agent.
  • Fill in for any operator or lead when needed.
  • Make process adjustments to improve cycle time, product quality, and heat settings.
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine job requirements such as type and quantity of spools, pallet types, and stacking patterns.
  • Deposit materials into bins manually or using a hoist.
  • Enter commands to retrieve and activate preprogrammed instructions from a computer.
  • Perform prescribed quality control inspections and audits, ensuring appropriate tracking.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose minor machine and robot operational problems.
  • Observe robotic operation and monitor machine controllers for malfunctions and error messages.
  • Perform all 6S functions.
  • Perform machine maintenance, such as cleaning or changing injection and vacuum filters.
  • Assist or perform testing procedures for changes to materials and finished goods.
  • Serve as a positive example to co-workers regarding work ethic, teamwork, attendance, safety, and quality.
  • Attend and participate in morning meetings at shift change.
  • Assist in improving training matrix processes.
  • Become certified and operate a variety of forklifts, as required.
