About The Position

The Production Engineering Manager (HOP) is responsible for improving productivity and profit at the plant and driving quality improvement through root cause analysis. This role ensures products are manufactured in compliance with customer specifications, safety standards, and design specifications.

Requirements

  • BS degree in mechanical engineering or related majors.
  • Minimum 7 years of automotive industry experience is required.
  • IATF quality system knowledge is required.
  • Mandatory skill of drawing interpretation, jig & fixture design & pneumatic system understanding.
  • Be proficient in MS Office, Auto-Cad.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Tooling and fixture design experience preferred.
  • Experience with robotics and industrial controls preferred.
  • Bilingual language (Korean) preferred.
  • 6 Sigma, Mini-tap experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading Production Engineering team members as HOP and coordinate tasks with relevant teams in the organization.
  • Communicating with Global Production Engineering HQ in Korea as a counterpart and leading tasks directed by the GPE team.
  • Implementation of processes including equipment procurement, coordination of installation, process capability prove-out, training, process documentation, and production start-up.
  • Contributing to the product introduction process with respect to cost estimation, process investigation, schedule development, product validation, and product validation testing.
  • Maintaining and modifying machines for new generation vehicles.
  • Reviewing production problems as they are identified on a regular basis and implementing solutions.
  • Working closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Production Manager, and other departments to implement processes and equipment.
  • Working closely with the maintenance team to troubleshoot machine problems and develop PM programs.
  • Working closely with production and production quality teams to ensure that target production and quality goals are achieved.
