About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Fabrication organization is seeking a Production Engineering Manager (Liaison Engineering), First Line Manager to join the Boeing Portland, OR Engineering team. The role offers an opportunity to manage analysis of engineering data related to the fabrication of flight critical parts for all BCA airplane programs. This is an important role managing an important team, ensuring the highest quality output critical to the safe and efficient operation of the Boeing fleet and exceeding the expectations of our amazing customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience in support of aerospace products, which should include commercial and/or military airplane.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing activities within Liaison Engineering discipline.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Manage the cost, schedule, and technical requirements of multiple projects simultaneously; report performance to plan to senior leadership and executives.
  • Interface with other engineering functions, suppliers, and customers as required to meet business objectives.
  • Lead the team by setting expectations, clarifying strategy, communicating frequently, and talent development.
  • Manage direct reports by providing task assignments, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring compliance to policies and procedures.
