About The Position

The Production Engineer is the technical owner for day-to-day performance of an assigned manufacturing area at Arclin’s Spruance Manufacturing Plant in Richmond, Virginia. The role partners with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Process Safety, Quality, Supply Chain and other site resources to run the plant safely, reliably and at the lowest sustainable cost. The engineer uses process knowledge, data analysis and disciplined problem solving to resolve operating issues, protect product quality, improve asset utilization and turn the business plan into an executable daily operating plan. During abnormal events, the Production Engineer responds urgently, provides technical leadership and drives effective corrective and preventive actions. The role owns technical performance of the assigned area, maintains a visible field presence, reviews daily operating logs, alarms, trends and KPIs, and helps ensure operations remain within approved operating limits, environmental permits and process safety requirements. It applies process data, automation and manufacturing technology to improve throughput, quality, yield, energy use, conversion cost and asset utilization. The Production Engineer leads troubleshooting of process, equipment and control-system problems; supports root cause analysis; partners with Maintenance and Reliability to address defects and equipment availability; and evaluates process, controls and equipment improvements. The role also coordinates production capability and operating priorities, partners with Production Planning and Supply Chain on schedules, communicates daily plans and risks, and works with cross-functional teams to manage changes and protect compliance. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position with an annual bonus incentive. The schedule is days, with possible on-call troubleshooting.
