Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Production Dispatcher. This role is onsite at our GEIS headquarters in Syracuse, NY. Relocation is not provided for this position. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution and at least two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment OR five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within a machine and assembly manufacturing facility (CNC, manual machining, sub assembly and final assembly cells etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Excel
  • SAP experience
  • Experience in a Union environment
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement projects
  • Thorough knowledge of planning and scheduling
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production, forecasting and inventory management procedures
  • Must leverage effective communication, analytical and PC skills with the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively

Responsibilities

  • Put together and distribute production packets to the assembly cells or to the accumulator to distribute in assigned assembly cells.
  • Compute amount of material required to complete production orders.
  • Create requisitions for material and coordinate delivery of material to departments.
  • Examine material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications/requested qty.
  • Maintain cycle counts of assigned department and provides accurate reporting to production and materials team for action.
  • Assist at monitoring machine and assembly schedules for all products/parts in specified departments.
  • Work closely with all functional areas as necessary to ensure that the production plan fulfills customer requirements with the appropriate balance of thought and inventory requirements.
  • Communicate with the shop floor leads to determine movement of hot jobs onto other machining or assembly centers when machines or assembly cells are down, or production is backlogged. Communicate with the non-ferrous foundry with delivery of raw material to complete machining and assembly orders.
  • Ensure packets or reprints of drawings are issued to the shop floor employees.
  • Escalate issues as necessary to operations management and quality to ensure adherence to production plan in support of achieving/driving results.
  • Detect critical needs and advise planners, supervisors, and quality as needed.
  • Work closely with the accumulator in assembly who kits all the assembly jobs together. Ensuring this person has all needed job packs and is prioritizing all critical jobs to the assembly floor.
