About The Position

Ward Church is hiring a Production Director to lead its production department at the Northville campus. The role oversees two Production Managers and their teams, manages the department budget, and serves as Event Producer for weekend services and major events. The director sets technical standards for audio, lighting, video, and stage systems, and develops procedures and systems to maintain those standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring the director to step in when production equipment fails or staffing needs arise. The position supports Ward Church's mission to lead generations to live and love like Jesus.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in live production.
• Hands-on experience with audio, lighting, video, and stage systems, including troubleshooting under live-event pressure.
• Experience leading other leaders or managers.
• Experience building systems and documentation that allow a team to operate without depending on one person.
• Ability to manage a budget, a run-of-show, and a team of volunteers.
• Shared commitment to the mission and values of Ward Church.

Nice To Haves

• Experience creating video content end to end, including gathering stories, shooting footage, and editing it into a finished, publishable piece.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach two Production Managers, building team capability and succession readiness.
• Serve as Event Producer for weekend services and major events, coordinating creative vision with technical execution.
• Set production standards for audio, lighting, video, and stage systems across the Northville campus.
• Develop standard operating procedures and systems to ensure production standards are maintained.
• Manage the production budget, equipment lifecycle planning, and vendor relationships.
• Recruit, train, and develop volunteers in collaboration with the Production Managers.
• Provide hands-on production support when needed, including responding to equipment failures or staffing gaps.
