About The Position

This position will serve as a liaison between Production and Operations Executive management. Production Coordinators play a vital part in ensuring information flows and activities are completed on time with a high degree of quality. The role involves assisting with the production and delivery of required documentation for specific weapons programs, supporting weapon, unit, and/or component moves, and delivering weapon books to weapons records and production areas. The Production Coordinator will also manage a 35-account inventory and ordering duties, collaborate with tooling coordinators, and coordinate the collection of beryllium and radiation release results. Additionally, the role includes leading 5S activities for efficiency improvements, assisting Production Section Managers with procedure validation and document replacement, coordinating gas lab sampling and supplies, planning and distributing safety communications, documenting and tracking weapons records and deadlines, and participating in production personnel hiring activities when needed. The position also supports continuous improvement projects and the development of Key Performance Indicators.

Requirements

  • Possess thorough understanding of assembly/disassembly activities and automated manufacturing resource planning system philosophy
  • Have working knowledge of capacity planning and scheduling
  • Apply the principles of Conduct of Operations
  • Organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interface effectively with all level of staff and management
  • Monitor compliance with written instructions regarding Security, Environment Safety & Health, Quality,and Building Management policies and guidelines
  • Present information regarding processing, scheduling, and building management functions clearly and effectively
  • Good working knowledge of PDMLink, Integrated Production Planning and Execution System (IPRO), and Excel
  • Associate Degree in related discipline with: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. (Typical relevant experience 4–6 years.) OR High School Diploma with: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. (Typical relevant experience 4–6 years.)
  • Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
  • Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
  • If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 709.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with production and delivery of required documentation benefitting specific weapons programs

  • Work with tooling coordinators to ensure proper tooling is in the bay
  • Coordinate the collection of beryllium and radiation release results as needed
  • Lead 5S activities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and optimize productivity
  • Assist Production Section Managers with procedure validation and replacement of documents in weapons records
  • Coordinate gas lab sampling and supplies to lab and production
  • Plan, compose, and distribute safety communication and newsletter to production personnel
  • Document and track weapons records and deadlines
  • Participate in production personnel hiring activities when needed
  • Support continuous improvement projects in order to gain efficiencies and improve quality
  • Support the development of Key Performance Indicators
