About The Position

Issue and distribute production work orders to manufacturing teams. Ensure that all released work orders are aligned with the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and any updated changes from the Master Scheduler. Confirm that required documents, routings, and traveler packets are complete and correct. Track the progress of open work orders through each production stage. Validate that work orders are progressing according to schedule. Identify bottlenecks or delays and escalate to the Master Scheduler and Production Leads. Ensure that completed work orders are properly closed in the ERP system.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2-4 years experience in project management, production control, planning, purchasing or manufacturing required.
  • An understanding of ERP/MRP planning system operation and function.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required (Excel, Teams, Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities; able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Professional, confident, and diplomatic interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem-solving ability, with the capacity to anticipate and adapt to change.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, ethical, and motivating approach.
  • High Energy self-directed problem solver with a strong bias for action and decision making.

Nice To Haves

  • some college preferred.
  • A firm understanding of blueprints, machining, fabrication, and raw materials is preferable.
  • Oracle ERP knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Verify that labor, materials, and machine time are accurately recorded and posted.
  • Support cycle time tracking, variance analysis, and production traceability.
  • Maintain real-time status updates of active production orders.
  • Reconcile discrepancies between planned vs. actual progress.
  • Provide reports on WIP, completions, and order backlogs to the Master Scheduler or Operations leadership.
  • Reconcile planned vs. applied hours applied to completed work orders with manufacturing on a regular basis.
  • Address variances with corrective updates.
  • Participate in or facilitate production meetings to provide updates and receive direction from the Master Scheduler.
  • Work with all other departments and functions of the company to ensure effective processing of customer orders.
  • Ensure effective cross-departmental collaboration to process customer orders seamlessly.
  • Represent NOV professionally in all communications and external interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, HSE standards, and support process requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
