About The Position

The Production Control Clerk will assist the Master Scheduler in coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedule. Duties include assisting in the review and distribution of production schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to 2 years’ progressive office experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety, rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively and knowledge of English language, both oral and written
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.
  • Intermediate computer skills required in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Manufacturing/Inventory software experience, or experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily analysis and reporting of production status. Troubleshoot and report computer system issues that may affect production.
  • Assist with physical inventory process; coordinating the closing of all work orders prior to count.
  • Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress, find and resolve issues causing production flow difficulties.
  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.
  • Examine documents and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. End/Close work orders to ensure accurate posted journals and costing.
  • Provide on-call support for production environment.
  • Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, so that status reports can be completed.
  • Adjust set-ups on parts including routings, Safety Stocks, and EOQ’s. Compile and prepare documentation related to production.
  • Examine future work orders for on time release or potential problems.
  • Assist with special projects/procedures that require special attention (galvanizing orders, big or rare orders, and stock builds.
  • Provide documentation and information to account for delays, difficulties, or changes to cost estimates.
