PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE - CENTRAL POINT
About The Position
The Production Associate supports daily retail operations at Southern Oregon Goodwill by receiving, preparing, sorting, pricing, and rotating merchandise; conducting quality control; operating department equipment; and preparing goods for sale, processing, or storage. The role also performs inventory and tracking tasks, assists GoodWorks staff with client-program work plans and guidelines as assigned by the store manager, and provides timely, effective, and respectful customer service. The position contributes to Goodwill’s mission of enabling employment and supporting sustainable practices. Work is performed primarily indoors in a climate-controlled space, with occasional work outdoors. The role has a medium physical demand level and requires prolonged sitting and standing, frequent walking and standing for up to eight hours per day, and frequent kneeling, stooping, and bending. The employee regularly handles, carries, or moves up to 20 pounds, occasionally handles up to 50 pounds, and may push or pull material-handling equipment and carts with loads weighing up to 250 pounds.
Requirements
- Speak and understand English sufficiently to read materials and communicate with customers and coworkers.
- Be able to maintain the physical requirements of the working environment.
- Perform simple mathematical calculations.
Nice To Haves
- Experience that would support good customer service is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a retail or comparable environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Receive, prepare, sort, price, and rotate retail stock, and conduct quality control.
- Operate department equipment and machinery; prepare goods for sale, processing, or storage.
- Perform inventories, tallies, and other tracking required in the retail environment.
- Assist GoodWorks staff with implementing work plans and guidelines for client programs, as assigned by the store manager.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve problems within the scope of the role in a timely, effective, and respectful manner.
