About The Position

Leggett & Platt Incorporated is seeking a Production Associate to join their Operations team and support their Automotive business. The company is a leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers. The Production Associate will be responsible for setting up and controlling the operation of single or multiple production machines for manufacturing products, working overtime when necessary, and participating in continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

Sufficient dexterity and mechanical understanding to operate an automated machine.
Ability to understand instruction both verbal and written.
Ability to follow construction blueprints and document ongoing processes (with proper training).
Sufficient aptitude to identify proper product quality.
Ability to lift objects not to exceed 70 pounds.
Ability to roll drums weighing 500 pounds.
Basic understanding of and full compliance with all standard safety practices.
Willingness to be involved in ongoing skills improvement classes and efforts (TS-16949, Kaizen, and SMED).

Responsibilities

Sets up and controls operation of single or multiple production machines for the process of manufacturing products.
Operates a molding machine to process molding of formed wire to form seating components.
Produces quality product and identifies any quality issues.
Notifies appropriate personnel to fix machine issues.
Performs any other duties required in pursuance of the function of this position or as directed.
Troubleshoots molding problems.
Starts molding machines.
Sets molds in machines.
Properly hangs molds.
Properly waters molds.
Changes nozzles, nozzle tips, nozzle bands and barrel bands.
Uses basic hand tools.
