About The Position

Join the Special-Lite team to help us drive growth through relationships as strong and dependable as our products! As a Production Associate - Paint Prep, you will perform a variety of duties related to the preparation of our custom doors and entryways to be painted. Duties include: Inspecting doors, frames, and accessory components for cosmetic defects Sanding and performing cosmetic repairs as needed Hanging doors, frames and accessory components in preparation for priming and painting Mixing paint according to shop sheet specifications for prepared doors, frames and accessory components. Examining finished product to verify conformance to specification Cleaning and maintaining equipment and work area

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read, comprehend and carry-out instructions in written, oral, and/or diagram form
• Lift 70lbs with assistance
• Complete all work within our safety guidelines
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
• Intermediate mechanical comprehension and abilities
• Skills to measure and perform mathematical computations, including fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions
• Ability to read a tape measure down to a 1/32"
• Work and train in other departments as needed
• Experience with painting/coating applications
• Respirator physical required
• Ability to differentiate colors

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with Bondo and Sanding
• Previous experience with spraying wet paint
• Previous manufacturing, assembly, or construction experience
• Blueprint or template reading a plus
• Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
