About The Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented Composite Technician to join a growing aerospace team at a FAA Repair Station. This is a 1st shift opportunity in a clean, climate-controlled facility. The ideal candidate will have experience with sanding, masking, and preparing composite components for repair and finishing while maintaining strict aerospace quality standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in composites, aerospace manufacturing, automotive body work, paint preparation, or a related field
- Experience with sanding, masking, surface preparation, or finishing techniques
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to use hand tools and basic measuring equipment
Responsibilities
- Sand and prepare composite aerospace components for repair, coating, and finishing processes
- Apply masking materials to protect critical surfaces and ensure precise paint/coating lines
- Perform surface preparation using hand tools and power sanding equipment
- Inspect parts for defects, imperfections, and compliance with work instructions
- Follow FAA regulations, repair station procedures, and quality standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete required production records
- Handle delicate aerospace components with care to prevent damage
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures
