About The Position

We are looking for a talented Production Associate - Level IV- 2nd shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Driving safe operations — Operating with a proactive safety mindset by identifying hazards, stopping work when necessary, and modeling behaviors that strengthen an interdependent, injury‑free workplace. Elevating product quality — Applying SPC, poka‑yoke, visual standards, and thorough inspections to prevent defects, control non‑conforming material, and reduce cost and quality risks. Delivering reliable production — Running equipment independently at required cycle times, meeting production goals, and consistently producing parts that meet exact specifications. Leading and supporting others — Acting as a formal resource for teammates, coordinating work, sharing expertise, and strengthening overall team capability. Maintaining equipment readiness — Performing routine cleaning, operator care, and maintenance tasks while partnering with skilled trades to identify issues early and keep machines running efficiently. Adapting to change — Responding quickly to shifting priorities, handling uncertainty with confidence, and solving problems that lack clear or immediate solutions. Improving processes — Identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, material flow, and efficiency, and taking initiative to support continuous improvement.   • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with systems such as Oracle, Power BI, or similar manufacturing/logistics tools preferred.
  • Prior experience in a lead or coordinator role within a high-volume manufacturing environment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily material flow operations across assigned areas (Assembly Teams, Central Sub, Kitting, Receiving), ensuring parts are delivered accurately and on time to support production schedules.
  • Monitor and manage inventory flow using systems such as Oracle, SIR reports, and AEL boards to proactively identify shortages, escalate risks, and prevent line impacts (EOOP).
  • Serve as the first point of contact for line stockers and material handlers, providing direction, coaching, and real-time problem solving to maintain safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
