About The Position

Performs multiple tasks involved in producing various products within one department. Handles materials such as rubber, stretch cord, and packing materials. Fluency in English, including the ability to speak, read, and write proficiently, is required. The position works under close supervision, follows clearly prescribed rules and procedures, and seeks supervisor guidance for non-routine or problem areas. Work output may be subject to detailed checks or close review by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Requirements

• Fluency in English, including the ability to speak, read, and write proficiently.
• 0–2 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• High school diploma or GED is strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience reading a tape measure or other measurement devices.
• Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Works on assigned department processes, including inserting materials, clamping, fitting parts, and using hand tools.
• Cuts materials to specified dimensions according to fabrication spec sheets; uses a tape measure to determine cut lengths, reads work order specifications, and checks measurements for accuracy.
• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Completes material assemblies and sub-assemblies using bench-type processes and hand, electronic, and pneumatic tools as required.
• Notifies the supervisor of mechanical, material, or safety issues.
• Attaches appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Follows standard work methods, standard operating procedures, and job aids.
• Packs finished goods into the correct packages and boxes them using assigned packing materials, then places finished goods on designated pallets.
