About The Position

Performs multiple tasks involved in producing various products within one department. Handles materials such as rubber, stretch cord, and packing materials. Proficiency in spoken and written English, including reading, is required. Work is performed under close supervision, with limited independent judgment and detailed checks or review by a senior coworker or supervisor. Work follows prescribed rules, past practices, and instructions; non-routine issues and deviations are referred to the supervisor.

The position is located indoors in a comfortable environment. It requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering materials or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward. No travel is required.

Requirements

• Proficiency in English, including the ability to speak, read, and write.
• 0–2 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• Ability to perform intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward materials or equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience reading a tape measure or other measurement devices.
• Basic math skills.
• High school diploma or GED is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned departmental production processes, including inserting materials, clamping, fitting parts, and using hand tools.
• Cut materials to dimensions specified on fabrication spec sheets; use a tape measure to determine cut lengths, read work-order specifications, and verify measurements.
• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Complete material assemblies and sub-assemblies using hand tools and electronic and pneumatic tools as required.
• Notify the supervisor of mechanical, material, or safety issues.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Follow standard work methods, standard operating procedures, and job aides.
• Pack finished goods in the correct packages and boxes using assigned packing materials, and place finished goods on the designated pallet.
