About The Position

The Production Assistant supports extrusion operations in a manufacturing environment, helping produce products that meet specifications and quality standards. The role includes inspecting product attributes, packaging and labeling finished materials, moving materials, assisting with machine cleaning, communicating production issues, completing production and quality paperwork, and maintaining housekeeping. This role is part of a 24/7 manufacturing environment with variable shifts as scheduled. The stated pay is $18 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Basic math proficiency, including whole numbers and fractions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read gauges and similar measuring devices.
• Ability to read a ruler.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to accident-free operations and comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
• Assist the extrusion operator in producing products according to specifications.
• Monitor and perform quality checks on product color, surface, size, and other attributes before packaging.
• Place pallets properly and package finished materials as directed.
• Move materials to designated areas as needed.
• Assist extrusion operators with cleaning machinery, including saws and tanks, when necessary.
• Communicate daily issues and pertinent information to production assistants, assistant operators, operators, and team leaders.
• Follow plant safety procedures and company policies, practices, and procedures.
• Complete detailed production operator reports and other quality or production paperwork as necessary.
• Complete and attach product labels according to specifications.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the production area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
