About The Position

Pentair is seeking a Product Sustainability Leader to join its Sustainability team in Golden Valley, Minnesota. The role advances product sustainability across Pentair by refreshing a product sustainability framework that aligns with business needs and creates customer value, while supporting engineering and innovation in sustainable design and product claims. The position works with business and innovation teams to incorporate sustainability improvements into product designs and to develop scientifically supported, documented sustainability claims. The Product Sustainability Leader also maintains and communicates enterprise-wide product impact metrics, including Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions and the energy and water savings enabled by Pentair products. The role evaluates product carbon footprints, life cycle analyses, environmental product declarations, and system certifications; supports regulatory compliance; manages corporate certification programs; and uses sustainability software and Power BI to maintain portfolio dashboards. This is a full-time position based in Golden Valley, Minnesota. The anticipated annualized base pay range is $95,500–$177,300, with potential eligibility for an annual incentive bonus. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences, marketing, or a related field.
Experience in sustainability, engineering, or marketing.
High attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects and deliver required outcomes in support of business objectives.
Self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to multitask across a large variety of projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent listening, writing, and speaking skills, with the ability to influence.
Ability to participate actively in team development and team-oriented processes and motivate others to do the same.
Strong organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree or higher in sustainability or sciences.
Previous experience in product development, engineering, or quality is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

Advance Pentair’s product sustainability strategy and partner with the VP of Sustainability and Pentair businesses to create a customer value-based product sustainability framework.
Partner with engineering teams to develop sustainable product claims, including scientific support and documentation.
Evaluate potential value creation through product carbon footprint quantification, life cycle analysis, environmental product declarations, and system certifications such as ISO.
Guide engineering teams in optimizing product sustainability attributes and functionality while considering future-proof regulatory requirements.
Partner with project engineering and product management teams to ensure viable technology and operating assumptions.
Partner with ESG Finance to maintain Pentair’s Scope 3 carbon/GHG footprint.
Lead business enablement for compliance with sustainability-related regulations, such as extended producer responsibility (EPR).
Manage corporate certification programs, including ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year, and other submissions as needed.
Use data analytics tools, including sustainability software platforms and Power BI, to create and maintain dashboards for key product sustainability portfolio views.
Perform other duties as assigned.
