About The Position

The Product Support Sales Representative (PSSR) is responsible for traveling to job sites to inspect machines, measure undercarriages, and estimate projected life based on field measurements. This role involves regular customer contact through weekly, monthly, and quarterly calls, as well as responding to emergency calls which may require overnight travel. The PSSR advises machine owners on minimizing operating costs for Caterpillar machinery and manages customer-site parts inventory, including filters and hose/coupling stock. A critical aspect of the PSSR role is developing and maintaining strong customer and community relationships, which may extend beyond normal working hours. The PSSR is expected to establish residency in the town where their territory is based, with store locations in Casper, Cheyenne, Gillette, and Rock Springs. Additional responsibilities include entertaining customers, building social and professional relationships, attending factory trips or training schools (which may last over a week), and organizing/managing customer meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Graduate.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in the parts or service department.
  • Two (2) years of sales experience.
  • Selling experience.
  • Good people skills.
  • Familiarity with Ultrasonic Wear Indicator.
  • Familiarity with personal computer and mainframe computer applications.
  • Familiarity with other technological devices.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and carry heavy items.

  • Experience with sales presentations.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance programs.

Responsibilities
