The role is accountable for standardization, requirements rationalization, interface definition, and plant system structuring across the product lifecycle. The leader functionally guides a team of senior and lead Configuration Management professionals and sets strategic direction for engineering standards, requirements management in PLM, plant system structure consistency, and alignment with model-based engineering (MBE). The role calls for deep systems engineering knowledge, leadership capability, coaching, and cross-functional execution across complex technical domains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Nice To Haves

  • Significant experience in Systems Engineering, Configuration Management, Product Structuring, Project Engineering, or related disciplines in a complex industrial environment.
  • Direct or indirect people leadership experience, including coaching and developing technical professionals.
  • A track record of leading cross-functional priority execution in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong Systems Engineering background and experience with requirements, interfaces, product structure, and digital engineering practices.
  • Experience leading standardization or transformation initiatives across multiple technical domains.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Experience with complex engineered products, rotating equipment, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Deep understanding of Configuration Management, requirements engineering, system structuring, and model-based engineering.
  • Experience with PLM, plant systems, and digital product structure governance.
  • Ability to build and sustain systems thinking within a technical organization.
  • Experience designing or implementing standards verification, quality measurement, and audit processes.
  • Ability to coach others and develop technical leadership capability.
  • Track record of driving product structure simplification and requirement rationalization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization-wide Configuration Management standardization strategy for product structures.
  • Define and drive the future-state operating model for structuring and governing engineering standards, requirements, and interfaces.
  • Ensure configuration practices are consistent and scalable across product lines and lifecycle stages.
  • Lead the Systems Engineering transformation of product structures in alignment with Systems Engineering 2030 principles.
  • Establish system structuring logic connecting product definition, requirements, interfaces, and plant-level execution.
  • Promote systems thinking within the Configuration Management community and partner functions.
  • Functionally lead senior and lead Configuration Management professionals, providing coaching, direction, and development support.
  • Set team priorities, align work to business needs, and ensure effective execution.
  • Own the strategy and governance for system-level requirements definition and rationalization in PLM.
  • Define and maintain interface structures across systems, product lines, and plant environments.
  • Ensure product requirements are logically structured, traceable, and aligned with engineering and manufacturing needs.
  • Align plant system structures with product structures and engineering standards.
  • Ensure consistency among PLM, plant systems, and MBE models, and establish practices for maintaining structural integrity across digital environments.
  • Develop and maintain processes for standards management, verification, quality measurement, and audit.
  • Establish objective measures of configuration quality, standards compliance, and process maturity.
  • Lead continuous improvement based on audit findings, metrics, and business needs.
  • Execute cross-functional priorities with engineering, manufacturing, digital, and operational stakeholders; build alignment to resolve dependencies and advance initiatives.
  • Translate business priorities into executable technical outcomes in partnership with stakeholders.
