Product Specialist

AG TECHNOLOGIES LLCCordele, GA
$45,000 - $100,000Hybrid

About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Product Specialist to serve as the subject matter expert and champion for an assigned product line within Ag Technologies. Unlike our Technical Account Specialists — who are aligned to specific customer accounts — the Product Specialist is aligned to a specific product or product family, carrying deep technical and application-level domain expertise across the entire territory and customer base. This role is the go-to resource for everything related to the assigned product: technical depth, field team enablement, product training, market development, marketing support, and customer-facing application consulting. The Product Specialist bridges the gap between our OEM/vendor partners and our field teams, ensuring that our organization maintains an industry-leading level of product knowledge and go-to-market execution.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to take complex, technical concepts and communicate them in a way that is clear, compelling, and consumable for diverse audiences — including customers, field teams, and leadership. This is the single most important qualification for this role.
  • Proven track record of translating technical depth into practical value — whether through training sessions, product demonstrations, written documentation, customer consultations, or presentations. The ability to make complicated ideas simple and actionable is essential.
  • Strong technical aptitude with a genuine curiosity and ability to quickly develop deep domain expertise on new products, technologies, and applications — regardless of the specific platform or brand.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical, product support, or customer-facing role within a technology-driven industry. Precision agriculture experience is valued, but candidates with strong technical communication skills from adjacent industries (technology, equipment, engineering, etc.) are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong presentation and training skills — comfortable leading product demonstrations, training sessions, and customer-facing engagements of all sizes.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively across a broad territory.
  • Excellent written communication skills — able to create documentation, guides, and marketing content that makes technical information accessible.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in precision agriculture technology, product management, or technical sales support.
  • Experience with precision agriculture platforms such as Trimble, Precision Planting, Ag Leader, John Deere, or similar ag technology systems.
  • Hands-on experience with GPS/GNSS systems, guidance and steering, application control, data management platforms, displays, and related hardware/software.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, P21) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience developing marketing content, training materials, or go-to-market strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field — or equivalent field experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain deep technical and application-level expertise on the assigned product line, including hardware, software, firmware, integrations, and field-level application best practices.
  • Stay current on all product updates, new releases, roadmap items, and competitive landscape developments for the assigned product.
  • Serve as the internal authority on product capabilities, configurations, troubleshooting, and advanced use cases.
  • Maintain manufacturer certifications and attend OEM/vendor training programs to ensure the highest level of product competency.
  • Act as the primary technical resource for Technical Account Specialists, Technicians, and Integration Specialists in the field, providing hands-on support for complex installations, configurations, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and deliver product training programs for internal teams — including onboarding for new specialists, seasonal refreshers, and advanced skills workshops.
  • Create technical documentation, reference guides, best practice playbooks, and troubleshooting workflows that empower the field team to operate confidently and independently.
  • Participate in ride-alongs, joint customer visits, and field support as needed to elevate the team’s product knowledge and customer engagement.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities for the assigned product line, including new customer segments, crop types, geographies, and application use cases.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the product, including pricing recommendations, competitive positioning, and channel strategies (e.g., CNH Retail, OEM partnerships, direct customer engagement).
  • Support the sales pipeline by conducting product demonstrations, field days, proof-of-concept trials, and customer-facing technical presentations that advance sales conversations.
  • Gather and communicate Voice of Customer (VOC) insights back to leadership and OEM/vendor partners to influence product development and enhancement priorities.
  • Partner with marketing to develop product-specific content — including website resources, social media posts, email campaigns, case studies, white papers, and promotional materials.
  • Represent the product at trade shows, industry events, field days, and customer-facing engagements, serving as the company’s product ambassador.
  • Ensure all product data, specifications, pricing, and resources are accurate and current across all company platforms (website, CRM, internal knowledge base).
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to keep Ag Technologies positioned as a market leader.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Ag Technologies and the OEM/vendor partner for the assigned product line.
  • Communicate product feedback, warranty issues, feature requests, and market intelligence to vendor partners.
  • Negotiate and coordinate access to demo equipment, co-op marketing funds, training resources, and other vendor support programs.
  • Track and report on product-related KPIs — including adoption rates, revenue by product, support ticket trends, training completion, and market development activities.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM (Salesforce/P21) for product demonstrations, customer interactions, and pipeline development activities.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on product performance, competitive landscape, and strategic recommendations.
