Product Specialist (Recycling & Forestry)
About The Position
RDO Equipment Co. is hiring a Product Specialist for Vermeer to support customer success and business growth across the region. The specialist serves as a trusted advisor on Vermeer equipment, works with customers and sales teams to provide value-added solutions, strengthens customer relationships, and helps maximize market share. The role combines technical product knowledge with sales strategy and customer engagement. RDO Equipment Co.'s Vermeer division provides Vermeer products, parts, and services through a network of eight Vermeer-exclusive stores, serving customers such as arborists, landscaping companies, contractors, forestry companies, and municipalities.
Requirements
- Ability to work autonomously while managing responsibilities and territory priorities.
- Understanding of local market conditions and customer applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and influence decisions.
- Solid computer skills and ability to use internal systems for tracking and reporting.
- Commitment to safety and teamwork, and ability to represent RDO Equipment Co. positively.
- Valid work authorization and ability to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Build strong industry relationships and maintain real-time awareness of market activity and opportunities.
- Schedule and conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to showcase equipment capabilities.
- Coordinate machine deliveries and provide customers with onsite operation and maintenance training.
- Maintain ongoing customer communication to support satisfaction and long-term success with equipment.
- Communicate with store leadership, sales teams, and manufacturing partners about product, technical, and commercial topics.
- Identify additional parts, service, and sales opportunities and refer leads to the appropriate teams.
- Provide ongoing product training to customers and internal team members.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation of $65,000–$90,000 or more per year.
