Product Specialist (Recycling and Forestry)
About The Position
RDO Equipment Co. is hiring a Product Specialist for its Vermeer division, specializing in recycling and forestry equipment. The role supports customer success and business growth across the Northern California Valley by providing product expertise, sales support, and customer engagement. The Product Specialist serves as a trusted advisor on Vermeer equipment, works with customers and sales teams to deliver solutions, strengthen relationships, and increase market share, and supports customers and internal staff through demonstrations, training, and follow-up. The position is based in Fresno and involves approximately 25% travel.
Requirements
- Ability to work autonomously while managing responsibilities and territory priorities.
- Experience towing a trailer and comfort with towing.
- Willingness to travel 25% in the Northern California Valley.
- Understanding of local market conditions and customer applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships and influencing decisions.
- Solid computer skills and ability to use internal systems for tracking and reporting.
- Dedication to safety, teamwork, and representing RDO Equipment Co. professionally.
- Valid U.S. work authorization; must be able to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build industry relationships and maintain current awareness of market activity and opportunities.
- Schedule and conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations.
- Coordinate machine deliveries and provide customers with onsite operation and maintenance training.
- Follow up with customers to support satisfaction and long-term success with their equipment.
- Communicate with store leadership, sales teams, and manufacturing partners about product, technical, and commercial topics.
- Identify additional parts, service, and sales opportunities and refer leads to the appropriate teams.
- Provide ongoing product training to customers and internal team members.
