About The Position

Bosch Thermotechnology Corporation seeks a Product Owner - Hydronics to provide management overview and support for the North American product management department. This role involves identifying new opportunities, defining new product concepts and ranges in the heating and water heating sectors, and fully supporting the product life cycle through the development process. The position will support specifying and industrial design processes for current and future products in North America, collaborating with internal and external departments globally to develop product strategies. The role also supports company objectives, including sales volume and profit forecasts, and coordinates activities with third-party suppliers worldwide. Key responsibilities include analyzing North American market trends and potentials, understanding customer needs (installers, distributors, sales reps, and consumers) for hydronics markets, and providing market summaries. The Product Owner will lead efforts to identify competitive products and develop new concepts, create the product roadmap, and manage the product lifecycle in alignment with sales regions and corporate goals. Active participation in new product development projects includes coordinating product requirements, pricing, industrial design, product information, and training. Market overview analysis of competitive products is required prior to development to identify unique selling points, costs/pricing, and technical specifications. Coordination with third-party suppliers for negotiation of product portfolio, specifications, pricing, and contracts is also a key function. The role oversees existing products, focusing on price positioning, profitability, sellout, technical features, quality issues, and product certifications. Additionally, the Product Owner will provide coaching and mentorship to the Product Management team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, HVAC Engineering or related field.
  • 7 years of experience as an Hydronics Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or other occupation involving product management or product development.
  • Employment experience with Hydronic design systems.
  • Employment experience with Heat transfer / thermodynamics.
  • Employment experience with Industrial design.
  • Employment experience with User experience data gathering and analysis to gain insight on customer preferences and further product development.
  • Employment experience with Product life cycle management.
  • Employment experience with Analysis of financial reports to ensure profit margins are met and maintained.
  • Employment experience with Developing product strategies based on research activities including review of market megatrends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide management overview and support for the Bosch Thermo technology Corp. North American product management department.
  • Identify new opportunities and define new product concepts and ranges in the heating and water heating sectors.
  • Fully support the product life cycle through the product development process.
  • Support specifying and industrial design processes on all current and future new products for the company in North America.
  • Collaborate with internal and external departments both in North America and at the company’s Global sites to successfully develop existing and new product strategies.
  • Support the company objectives, including sales volume and profit forecasts.
  • Coordinate the activities directly with third party suppliers positioned worldwide as necessary.
  • Analyze North American market trends and potentials in cooperation with the different production sites worldwide to develop product strategy.
  • Provide the periodic analysis and understanding of customer (installers, distributors, sales reps, and consumers) needs, requirements, and trends for the North American hydronics markets.
  • Provide the market summaries including trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory updates.
  • Lead activity to identify and provide for competitive products including new product concepts and ranges for North America.
  • Develop the product roadmap and coordinate the product lifecycle management for the company’s products in alignment with the North America sales regions and with the corporate goals.
  • Actively participate in the new product development projects, including being responsible to coordinate the product requirements, pricing, industrial design, product information and training.
  • Coordinate and/or complete the market overview analysis on competitive products prior to development efforts to identify unique selling points, costs/pricing and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate activities directly with third party suppliers including negotiation of product portfolio, specifications, pricing, and contracts.
  • Oversee existing products to follow up topics including price positioning and profitability, sellout, technical features, quality issues, and product certifications.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to the Product Management team members to support their development.
