About The Position

This is an operational Program Specialist role focused on product lifecycle management, configuration management, BOM management, and change order management. As engineers develop products, they will be responsible for creating part numbers and entering them into the PLM tool (Townsend, formerly Agile). This role involves creating and routing change orders to the configuration management team. A key part of the role is supporting the Kuiper program, which involves launching rockets and satellites. The associate will be a key stakeholder during the development of new products, ensuring product development phases throughout the NPI process are well-defined and organized. This includes creating and structuring Bill of Materials (BOM), tracking and entering Engineering Change Orders (ECO) in Townsend, managing BOM changes, and collaborating with Engineering and Component Engineers to create part numbers. They will also communicate new part numbers to internal teams and contract manufacturers. Daily tasks include collaborating with the product development team and third-party suppliers on BOM/material management and submitting change order requests. These roles will support different programs, focusing on BOM in PLM tools and working with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools; Agile, Windchill
  • Hardware configuration management experience
  • Knowledgeable of system/device build planning and builds
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage competing deadlines efficiently
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with product lifecycle management
  • Experience with PLM tools
  • Experience with Agile
  • Experience with Windchill
  • Experience with hardware configuration management
  • Experience with device building
  • Experience with system building
  • Experience with Excel (pivot table/vlookup)
  • Experience in consumer electronics/aerospace/devices/hardware

  • Must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment

  • 2-4 years of exposure in Consumer Electronics

Responsibilities

  • Create and structure Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • Work closely with Engineering and Component Engineers to create part numbers
  • Communicate new part numbers to internal teams and to the Contract Manufacturer
  • Collaborate with product development team and third party suppliers regarding BOM/material management

  • Support BOM in PLM tools
  • Work with cross-functional teams, operations, etc.
  • Build matrix - every proto build they go to Asia and put together build matrix of what they want to build. Create configuration with project with products they'll be using
  • Handling final configuration before they go to customers
