About The Position

Shorthand is seeking a Product Marketing Lead to join their team on the US West Coast on a fully remote basis. This role offers a high level of responsibility and autonomy within an ambitious team focused on the digital publishing space. The Product Marketing Lead will own Shorthand's story, shaping its positioning, developing sales narratives, leading product launches, and crafting compelling copy. This is a senior, hands-on role within a fast-paced Growth & Marketing team, with significant influence over how Shorthand is perceived, sold, and developed. The position reports to the VP of Growth & Marketing, with collaboration across Sales, Product, and Design teams, and a distributed team primarily in Australia and New Zealand. The role emphasizes an async-first collaboration style.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 4 years in product marketing or a closely related role, ideally in B2B SaaS or technology.
  • A track record of positioning work driven by the candidate.
  • A conviction that products should stand out, with a balance between personality and gimmick.
  • Experience supporting a sales-led motion with enterprise buyers, including sales enablement materials tied to revenue outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams to influence product, pricing, and go-to-market decisions.
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills, capable of writing shippable copy for various channels.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, prioritizing impact while maintaining high standards.
  • A passion for visual storytelling and communicating product value on the web.
  • Links to at least two pieces of created work (content, messaging, or sales enablement).

Responsibilities

  • Shape Shorthand’s positioning, segmentation, and core value propositions with leadership, giving Shorthand a distinctive voice and point of view.
  • Develop a deep understanding of buyers, users, market, and competitors, and translate it into tools for the company.
  • Build messaging frameworks, use cases, and proof points to support a sales-led motion.
  • Work with customers to understand how they measure Shorthand's value and create reusable proof.
  • Enhance Sales confidence and effectiveness with sharper deal narratives, objection handling, competitive positioning, and supporting materials.
  • Ensure new sign-ups quickly understand Shorthand's value and facilitate conversion into sales conversations.
  • Lead product and feature launches end-to-end, including strategy, KPIs, narrative, and cross-company coordination.
  • Contribute customer, market, and competitive perspectives to pricing and packaging decisions.
  • Maintain consistent voice and messaging across website, product pages, sales materials, lifecycle emails, and in-product touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design on feature framing, naming, and introduction to customers.
  • Feed market insights and customer feedback into product strategy and roadmap discussions.
  • Utilize Shorthand to showcase its capabilities through personal launches and enablement materials.
