About The Position

Join a growing NGO team behind an open-source, free-to-use web tool that's revolutionizing coral reef monitoring for scientists and institutions around the world. We're looking for a kind, hands-on, execution-focused marketing consultant who thrives on juggling multiple workstreams at once and reliably delivering each of them. This is a doer's role. You'll own the day-to-day marketing engine: social media content, a consistent content calendar, newsletters, and product communications that share new features and real user stories. You should be energized by this kind of steady, tangible output, not just big-picture strategy. That said, we also welcome your perspective: as you get to know the product, we'd love input on how we should be marketing it and its new features. Think trusted advisor, not CMO. You don't need a marine science or conservation background. We have deep technical and scientific expertise in-house and can supply the substance; we need you to translate it into clear, on-brand, polished communications for a global audience across our channels (X and LinkedIn primarily, with opportunities to grow Instagram and Facebook). The right fit is someone scrappy and self-directed who's comfortable being the whole marketing team, digging in without a big support structure behind them, staying organized, and being accountable for deliverables week over week.

Requirements

  • Product marketing execution (tech or SaaS experience desired)
  • Social media management and content calendar ownership (X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook)
  • Content creation and storytelling for technology audiences: social posts, newsletters, blogs, 1-pagers, presentation decks
  • Strong organizational habits: you keep work visible and on track (we use Trello)
  • Experience with WordPress CMS and Mailchimp
  • Experience with graphic design / Adobe Suite (not a primary skill, but could handle some light design/creation/editing)
  • Communications (social posts, marketing calendars, experience managing website developers or designers)
  • Marketing (create and execute go-to-market strategies, understand and develop strategy for a technology product suite)

Nice To Haves

  • Graphic design background a plus (Adobe Suite, Figma); dedicated design support is available for larger visual projects
  • UI/UX Design skills (desirable, e.g., Canva or Figma experience to translate user requirements into frontend design mockups)

Responsibilities

  • Owning and executing the social media content calendar
  • Managing social platforms, Mailchimp, and basic WordPress CMS updates
  • Writing newsletters, product announcements, and user stories
  • Reviewing copy and assets against brand guidelines
  • Light design of branded marketing materials
  • Advising on marketing approach for the product and new features as you ramp up
  • Attending weekly team meetings to identify marketing needs and priorities
