Product Manager

RFG AdvisoryAtlanta, GA
$140,000 - $160,000Hybrid

About The Position

RFG Advisory is seeking a Product Manager for a Super-IC role (60% hands-on builder, 40% process thinker) to prototype and ship solutions, acting as a proof point for the company's tech-forward approach. This role is crucial for establishing a build-versus-partner discipline within the senior leadership level and will involve transforming tools, signals, or API connections into usable workflows for advisors and internal teams. The position can be based in Birmingham, AL, with a hybrid schedule, or remote with occasional travel to Birmingham. The role reports to the Vice President of Technology and Operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and shipping software-powered workflows, internal tooling, or products as a technical PM, solutions engineer, or product ops leader, with ownership of problem definition and build.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping AI-powered or automation-heavy work in production (agents, MCP, Copilot/Claude-driven workflows, etc.).
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional projects end-to-end, including scoping, sequencing, status reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Comfort working in complex, multi-entity environments (CRM, marketing automation, financial planning, custodian integrations).
  • Track record of partnering with non-technical executives and translating technical capabilities into business outcomes.
  • Daily use of frontier AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Lovable) with a point of view on their application.
  • Working understanding of APIs, webhooks, MCP, agentic patterns, prompt engineering, and lightweight scripting (Python or JS).
  • Comfort with at least one CRM (Salesforce or HubSpot) at the configuration, workflow, or data-model level.
  • Comfortable managing cross-functional work in modern PM tooling (Zoho Projects, Asana, ClickUp, Jira, Linear, Monday.com).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Wealth-management experience.
  • Experience with Zocks, Snowflake, RightCapital, eMoney, Income Lab, Orion, Schwab APIs, or similar wealthtech.
  • A critical eye on tools, not loyalty to them; ability to evaluate tools against job requirements and push back when a tool is not a good fit.
  • Bonus: experience configuring or building inside a PM tool (custom fields, automations, dashboards, CRM integrations).

Responsibilities

  • Prototype and ship internal tools, agents, and AI-powered workflows across advisor and corporate stacks (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zocks, ClickONE, Microsoft 365, Schwab integrations, etc.).
  • Transform half-defined signals, API connections, or vendor demos into working v1 solutions within days, with demos and prototypes as primary deliverables.
  • Utilize APIs, MCP servers, Claude Console, MS Copilot Studio, and MS Foundry to rapidly develop solutions.
  • Own and communicate the build-vs-partner discipline, forming clear points of view on what to build, buy, bend, or leave alone, sequenced against ongoing initiatives.
  • Document decisions and trade-offs to ensure organizational confidence.
  • Manage multi-thread programs by maintaining clear scope, sequenced milestones, weekly status updates, and impactful retrospectives.
  • Communicate status to leadership in a concise and timely manner suitable for decision-making.
  • Maintain accuracy in the shared system of record (Zoho Projects/ClickUp) regarding projects, owners, dates, and decisions.
  • Collaborate with Corporate and Advisor Tech teams as an explorer, understanding advisor needs, CEO funding rationale, and team adoption before building.
  • Translate AI capabilities and technical decisions into actionable language for the CEO, board, and advisors.
