About The Position

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is seeking a customer-obsessed, data-driven Product Manager to reimagine the loan origination experience. This role is for an individual contributor who will own the end-to-end origination process, focusing on simplification, automation, and removal of friction. The ideal candidate will have a strong point of view on modern origination, grounded in a deep understanding of lending, and experience thriving in both startup and large enterprise environments.

Requirements

7+ years of product management experience on digital products related to financing.
Deep understanding of loan originations and consumer lending, including credit decisioning, risk pricing, and drivers of approval, funding, and loss.
Experience with credit decisioning, underwriting, or approval systems.
Ability to drive strategic direction to increase auto decisioning and counter offers.
Strong collaboration with business subject matter experts (SMEs) to unblock product development.
Solid stakeholder management skills, including navigating conflicting priorities and facilitating trade-off discussions.
Strong written communication skills for clear product briefs.
Startup mindset with enterprise polish; comfortable with ambiguity and moving fast while bringing stakeholders along.
Experience with fraud and identity verification systems and balancing risk controls with customer friction.
Working knowledge of lending regulation and compliance (TILA, ECOA, Fair Lending, CFPB).
Hands-on experience with data analysis, including digging into datasets, writing queries, and working with aggregations.
Track record of shipping products that customers actively use.
Experience working directly with engineering teams in an agile environment.
Passion for modern product management practices and AI-powered tooling.

Nice To Haves

Experience in automotive finance, fintech, lending, or marketplace products.
Experience with soft and hard credit pull integrations and credit bureau data.
Experience with Kiro, AI/ML-powered decisioning, risk, or fraud models.
Experience writing PR/FAQ or similar 'working backwards' product documents.

Responsibilities

Own the vision and implementation of the credit decisioning experience, including soft credit pull, approval engine, conditional data collection, co-borrower support, and denial handling.
Own fraud and identity management by partnering with risk and fraud teams to define verification and detection checks.
Own the compliance foundation, ensuring credit decisions and disclosures meet regulatory requirements (TILA, ECOA, Fair Lending, CFPB) in partnership with legal and compliance.
Own product quality, testing strategy, and validation of business outcomes before release, defining success metrics beyond conversion.
Engage directly with customers through usability tests and discovery interviews to shape the product.
Define product strategy using PR/FAQs and PRDs that articulate customer problems, solutions, and success metrics.
Make prioritization decisions based on data, customer feedback, and business impact.
Partner with engineering and design teams, providing the 'what' and 'why'.
Ship incrementally by defining releases, setting acceptance criteria, and delivering working software quickly.
Instrument all aspects of the product to define success metrics, build dashboards, and use data for future development.
Define success metrics for approval rates, funnel conversion, and risk.
