Product Manager

Caselle•Provo, UT

About The Position

Own a product area end to end across a finance and operations suite for local government, with responsibility for real customers, usage, and the platform’s direction. Areas may include document management, accounts payable, reporting and analytics, and payroll and HR; the focus will depend on the candidate’s background and business needs. The Product Manager owns the area roadmap, uses customer evidence and data to guide decisions, and identifies opportunities to embed AI and agentic features into manual workflows. The role works closely with engineering to define specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria, make trade-offs, and ship in short cycles on an API-first platform. It also partners with sales, implementation, and support, spends time observing customers, defines and reports on product outcomes, and helps modernize the platform without disrupting customers’ month-end close. In the first 90 days, the Product Manager is expected to learn the domain and customers, ship a meaningful improvement, and publish a 12-month roadmap for their area.

Requirements

  • 3–4 years as a Product Manager or Product Owner on a B2B SaaS product.
  • Currently manages an HR, payroll, accounts payable, finance, document management, or reporting product at a govtech, public-sector ERP, or finance/HR software company.
  • Has shipped at least one software product in the relevant space end to end that customers use today, and can explain what was built and the results.
  • Uses AI tools every day for work such as prototyping, research, writing specifications, or analyzing data, and has opinions about where AI belongs in a product.
  • Comfortable discussing APIs, data models, and trade-offs in depth with engineers and explaining the same concepts plainly to customers or salespeople.
  • Demonstrated track record of shipping products and explaining the resulting changes.
  • High drive, low ego, desire for ownership, ability to move quickly, and a focus on fixing problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the public sector, fund accounting, municipal finance, or utility billing.
  • Experience with an ERP or HCM suite, especially a cloud migration or legacy-to-new-platform rebuild.
  • Experience shipping an AI- or LLM-powered feature to production, such as document extraction, copilots, agents, or natural-language reporting.
  • Comfort with SQL or a BI tool to answer questions independently.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for a product area and decide what to build based on customer evidence and data.
  • Identify manual, repetitive workflows and design AI and agentic features to reduce or eliminate them.
  • Work closely with engineering by writing specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria, making trade-offs, and shipping in short cycles.
  • Partner with sales, implementation, and support; join deals, demonstrate upcoming work, incorporate field feedback, and prepare teams for launches.
  • Spend time with customers, observe their work, and bring customer insights back to the product team.
  • Set and report on outcomes for adoption, time saved, support volume, and revenue.
  • Help move capabilities onto the new platform without disrupting customers’ month-end close.
  • During the first 90 days, learn the domain and customers, ship a meaningful improvement, and publish a 12-month roadmap.

Benefits

  • Ownership from day one, with direct work alongside product and technology leadership.
  • AI-first product strategy, where product ideas can ship without waiting on a corporate AI program.
  • Products used by more than 2,000 local governments, with newly shipped work reaching customers quickly.
  • Investment from TA Associates and budget for new products, hires, and modern tooling.
  • A small team with fast decisions and collaborative work.
  • Opportunity to help shape the growing product organization and grow with it.
