About The Position

AlertMedia is seeking a Product Manager to transform real-world security expertise into Social Intelligence software. This role is crucial for helping teams identify credible threats sooner and protect people when it matters most. The Social Intelligence area is a rapidly evolving part of AlertMedia's product, focusing on extracting meaningful information from open sources to identify risks like violence, unrest, executive targeting, and physical threats. The Product Manager will own the strategy and execution for this domain, ensuring AlertMedia effectively addresses the challenge of separating critical signals from overwhelming data.

Requirements

  • Operational experience protecting people, businesses, or brands in corporate security, intelligence, threat assessment, executive protection, law enforcement, military, a global security operations center, or a comparable environment.
  • Hands-on experience using social and open-source threat intelligence products as a practitioner, with a clear perspective on their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Working knowledge of manual open-source intelligence tradecraft, including source discovery and validation, platform-specific search and Boolean logic, geolocation and imagery verification, persona and account analysis, and corroboration across sources.
  • Product management experience, or demonstrated ownership of a product-adjacent function such as intelligence program design, tooling selection, or internal capability building.
  • Strong analytical judgment and comfort making decisions with incomplete or conflicting information.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging in technical conversations with Engineering and strategic discussions with executives.
  • Comfort with tools like Jira, Confluence, and product analytics software.
  • A collaborative, no-ego approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Resourcefulness and persistence when facing unclear paths.
  • Energetic, empathetic, and earnest demeanor with a consistent record of delivering quality work on schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or scaling an intelligence function, including analyst workflow design, reporting standards, and escalation criteria.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery, APIs, system integrations, or data pipelines.
  • Exposure to threat assessment frameworks such as WAVR-21 or RAGE-V.
  • Experience with product enablement or go-to-market support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep expertise in customer personas (corporate security, intelligence analysts, executive protection, threat assessment, brand and communications teams) and their workflows.
  • Conduct continuous customer and prospect interviews, discovery conversations, ride-alongs, and feedback sessions to identify specific problem statements.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of current product strengths, areas for improvement, and future problem-solving opportunities.
  • Track industry trends, threat landscape shifts, platform changes, regulatory developments, and the competitive field to inform the product roadmap.
  • Own the Social Intelligence roadmap, making decisions on what to build, defer, or decline, with well-reasoned justifications.
  • Balance business objectives, customer needs, and industry trends when prioritizing and sequencing work, making tradeoffs explicit to stakeholders.
  • Define problem sets and jobs to be done for each initiative to ensure the team understands the desired outcomes.
  • Partner with Engineering and Design to translate customer problems into specifications, acceptance criteria, and deliverable milestones.
  • Break down large initiatives into smaller, releasable increments that deliver customer value early.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Design throughout the development process, including grooming, scope decisions, testing, and launch readiness.
  • Utilize AI development and design tools (e.g., Claude Code, Claude Design, Codex) to build prototypes, test concepts, and gather customer feedback quickly.
  • Treat prototypes as a research method to efficiently invalidate weak ideas and refine strong ones.
  • Promote AI tool fluency within the product team to accelerate the idea-to-evidence cycle.
  • Define success metrics (adoption, efficiency, signal quality, retention, revenue) before launch and instrument for measurement.
  • Analyze product usage data and customer outcomes post-release, reporting on performance and feeding insights back into the roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to position new capabilities, shape messaging, and enable Sales, Customer Success, and Support.
  • Translate product functionality into practical narratives and applications for customer-facing teams.
  • Lead internal training, demos, and Q&A sessions to ensure organizational understanding of new features and their value.
