About The Position

EV.Careers is currently seeking a full-time Product Manager for one of our partners. Our partner builds software that connects the design model to the shop floor for industrial fabrication teams — turning digital specifications into machine-ready production. As fabrication becomes more automated and connected, the software layer that links design environments to physical machines is becoming mission-critical, and this role sits right at that intersection. This is a discovery-heavy, customer-facing role. You will research the machines customers actually run, translate machine specifications into clear integration requirements, support deployments end to end, and own the lifecycle of supported integrations. It's an ideal fit for someone who is equally comfortable on a shop floor next to a CNC bender and in a working session with software engineers — and who can move fluidly between the two. Why it's attractive: high-ownership role on a growing, well-backed platform; direct impact on a product category that's actively expanding its machine integrations; and a rare blend of hands-on industrial work, product thinking, and technical writing.

Requirements

  • Experience working with technical systems, machine integrations, industrial equipment, or connected devices.
  • Hands-on familiarity with machine types such as CNC bending, CNC cutting, positioning, welding, and marking/labeling.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, manuals, and machine specifications.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Customer-facing experience with onboarding, implementation, or technical support.
  • Ability to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 30%).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and connectivity concepts (e.g., OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT, APIs).
  • Experience with manufacturing, automation, IoT, or industrial environments.
  • Exposure to model-to-machine, BIM-to-fabrication, or CAD/CAM-driven production workflows.
  • Experience programming or configuring CNC machines and designing the supporting data workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Research and document the types, brands, and models of machines customers use in their operations.
  • Track emerging machine technologies, protocols, and integration trends relevant to the industry.
  • Review how competitors approach machine integrations to surface opportunities and gaps.
  • Engage customers to validate integration requirements, clarify use cases, and confirm alignment before development begins.
  • Capture integration needs alongside product managers and customers, and translate them into clear technical requirements.
  • Provide detailed machine specifications (communication protocols, data formats, connectivity requirements) to software development teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date integration guides, configuration documents, and machine-specific data sheets.
  • Assist customers and internal teams with installation, configuration, and testing of machine integrations.
  • Provide second-line technical support for integration issues, escalating to engineering as needed.
  • Deliver onboarding materials, how-to guides, and training sessions for customers and internal staff.
