Google•Mountain View, CA
•$192,000 - $278,000

About The Position

The Product Manager will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch, connecting technical and business needs and breaking complex problems into actionable steps. The Geo Auto Data Platform team builds the data foundation and platforms behind Google's in-vehicle automotive offerings, including integrated turn-by-turn navigation, lane-level positioning and visualizations, and map data services for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD). The role requires deep expertise in AD/ADAS features and how map data supports them. The Product Manager will ensure software, tooling, map data, and supporting services meet the safety, freshness, and accuracy standards required by AD/ADAS features. The position also involves close collaboration with internal map data partners, engineering teams, and OEM partners. The Geo team develops mapping products and services, including Maps, Earth, Street View, and Google Maps Platform. Individual pay depends on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The listed US compensation is $192,000–$278,000, plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.

  • 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience with advanced driver-assistance systems or autonomous driving features.
  • Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or PhD degree in a technical field such as GIS, Geomatics, Computer Science, or Spatial Engineering.
  • Deep domain expertise in ADAS/AD features and how they are supported by map data systems and standards, such as electronic horizon, ADASIS, NDS, HD maps, and sensor fusion.
  • Experience launching ADAS features into series production, ideally with global OEM customers.
  • Technical background in map compilation, geospatial databases, and data quality validation methodologies for the automotive/ADAS domain.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority in a highly matrixed, multi-site environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and evolve relationships with upstream internal map data partners; drive, review, and approve ADAS-specific map attribute schemas; and document, establish, and enforce cross-functional governance to prevent fragmentation across divergent, non-ADAS use cases.
