About The Position

Parkson Corporation is seeking Product Managers for their Vernon Hills, IL location. The role focuses on increasing revenue, market share, and profitability within the wastewater treatment system industry by concentrating on specific products or product groups. This position will provide technical engineering sales support to customers, manage the profit and loss of assigned products to ensure their sustainability and profitability, and promote the product line through direct efforts and representatives. The Product Manager will develop and implement ideas for product improvements, cost reductions, win strategies, development funding, and resource allocation. They will also create product-specific selling strategies, conduct competitive intelligence, and develop a comprehensive business plan with a go-to-market strategy, including growth and sales strategies for the Aftermarket Parts and Services business. Collaboration with Application Engineers and Technical Sales Managers for customer interactions and piloting work is essential. The role involves developing training presentations and materials, and training sales, application engineering, representatives, service, and parts departments. The Product Manager will provide mechanical and operational expertise to support technical sales, act as a product expert on wastewater equipment design and applications, and manage the product lifecycle while ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field
  • 3 years of experience as an Engineer or with wastewater treatment engineering
  • Previous experience with Engineering, Designing Headworks for wastewater treatment (WWT) systems including Pilot work, Sales and field service
  • Salesforce CRM
  • ISO9001
  • WWT product design and processes experience with spiral, In-channel, internal and external rotary screens, conveyors and dewatering presses in primary wastewater treatment
  • Experience verifying Anchored load calculations to meet Seismic conditions
  • ERP systems

Responsibilities

  • Concentrate on products or product groups in order to increase revenue, market share, and profitability in wastewater treatment system industry.
  • Provide technical engineering sales support to various customers.
  • Responsible for profit and loss of assigned product and take any necessary action to continue to make product sustainable and profitable.
  • Promote product line directly and indirectly with representatives to win the pre-selection process.
  • Develop ideas and plans for wastewater product improvements, cost reduction, win strategies, development funding, and determine resource allocation and then institute those ideas.
  • Develop product specific selling strategies and perform competitive intelligence as needed to execute growth strategies.
  • Develop a business plan with a clear, go-to-market strategy, including growth and sales strategies related to the Aftermarket Parts and Services business for the product/portfolio.
  • Work closely with Application Engineers and Technical Sales Managers to all customers including for piloting work.
  • Develop training presentations and materials for assigned product.
  • Train sales, application engineering, representatives, service department, and the parts department.
  • Provide mechanical and operational expertise in support of technical sales.
  • Function as product expert on wastewater equipment design and applications while managing the product throughout its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
