Product Manager

RFG AdvisoryNashville, TN
Hybrid

About The Position

RFG Advisory is seeking a Product Manager to join their team. This role is a 'Super-IC' position, meaning it's 60% hands-on building and 40% process thinking. The ideal candidate will prototype, ship, and demonstrate solutions, turning tools, signals, or API connections into usable workflows for advisors and internal teams. This role is crucial for demonstrating RFG's commitment to being tech-forward. The position can be based in Birmingham, AL, with a hybrid schedule, or remote with occasional travel to Birmingham required for onboarding. The role reports to the Vice President of Technology and Operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and shipping software-powered workflows, internal tooling, or products as a technical PM, solutions engineer, or product ops leader, with ownership of problem definition and build.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping AI-powered or automation-heavy work in production (agents, MCP, Copilot/Claude-driven workflows, etc.). Side projects and personal builds are acceptable.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing cross-functional projects end-to-end, including scoping, sequencing, status reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Comfort working in complex, multi-entity environments including CRM, marketing automation, financial planning, and custodian integrations.
  • Track record of partnering with non-technical executives and translating technical capabilities into business outcomes.
  • Daily use of frontier AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Lovable) for building and strategic thinking, with a clear point of view on their application.
  • Working understanding of APIs, webhooks, MCP, agentic patterns, prompt engineering, and lightweight scripting (Python or JS).
  • Comfort with at least one CRM (Salesforce or HubSpot) at the configuration, workflow, or data-model level.
  • Comfort managing cross-functional work in modern PM tooling (Zoho Projects, Asana, ClickUp, Jira, Linear, Monday.com).
  • Ability to evaluate tools critically against job requirements and push back when a tool is not a good fit.

Nice To Haves

  • Wealth-management experience.
  • Experience with Zocks, Snowflake, RightCapital, eMoney, Income Lab, Orion, Schwab APIs, or similar wealthtech.
  • Experience configuring or building inside a PM tool (custom fields, automations, dashboards, CRM integrations).

Responsibilities

  • Prototype and ship internal tools, agents, and AI-powered workflows across advisor and corporate stacks (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zocks, ClickONE, Microsoft 365, Schwab integrations, etc.).
  • Transform half-defined signals, API connections, or vendor demos into working v1 solutions within days, with demos and prototypes as primary deliverables.
  • Utilize APIs, MCP servers, Claude Console, MS Copilot Studio, and MS Foundry to rapidly develop solutions.
  • Own and communicate the build-vs-partner discipline, defining a clear point of view on what to build, buy, bend, or ignore, sequenced against ongoing initiatives.
  • Document decisions and trade-offs to ensure organizational confidence.
  • Manage multi-thread programs, including clear scope, sequenced milestones, weekly status updates, and retrospectives that drive tangible changes.
  • Communicate project status to leadership in a concise and timely manner.
  • Maintain accuracy in the shared system of record (Zoho Projects/ClickUp) for projects, owners, dates, and decisions.
  • Document and hand off work cleanly to facilitate the next steps for others.
  • Collaborate with Corporate and Advisor Tech teams, acting as an explorer.
  • Translate AI capabilities and technical decisions into business outcomes understandable by the CEO, board, and advisors.
  • Understand the 'why' behind a project from advisor, CEO, and adoption perspectives before building.
