Product Manager

Bottomline•Portsmouth, NH

About The Position

Bottomline is seeking a collaborative, hands-on Product Manager to join its Business Payments Network team and support the continued evolution of Paymode across fraud prevention, security and compliance. This delivery-focused role translates business challenges and established roadmap priorities into clear requirements and executable development work, then supports solutions through the product development lifecycle. Senior product colleagues set the broader roadmap and direction, while the Product Manager owns requirements and delivery support. The role works across Product, Engineering, Security/CISO, Network Operations and other stakeholders, balancing business, customer, security and compliance needs. It calls for clear communication with technical teams and senior stakeholders, adaptability across projects, and curiosity about using data, automation and improved product experiences to solve problems. Fraud, risk or compliance experience is valuable but not essential; the role also suits someone with SaaS or technology product experience who is willing to build domain knowledge.

  • An adaptable, collaborative approach across different projects, priorities and stakeholder groups.
  • An outcome-focused mindset that allows engineering teams to determine architecture and implementation.
  • Curiosity about using data and automation to improve products, processes and decision-making.
  • Confidence constructively questioning established processes and exploring new solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Jira.
  • Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, fraud, security, risk or compliance.

  • Translate product priorities and established roadmap initiatives into actionable development work and help drive delivery through the full product development lifecycle.

  • Partner with development teams on sprint planning, requirements clarification, status discussions and execution of agreed priorities.
  • Build partnerships across Product, Engineering, Security/CISO, Network Operations and other stakeholder groups.
  • Identify opportunities to use data and automation to improve decision-making, reduce manual processes and strengthen fraud and compliance capabilities.
  • Question established ways of working and help explore better approaches within security, legal and regulatory guardrails.
  • Consider how product design and user experience can encourage compliant customer behavior without creating unnecessary friction.
  • Communicate progress, priorities, dependencies and challenges to technical teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Develop knowledge of fraud, security, risk and compliance in B2B payments, consulting internal specialists when deeper expertise is needed.
  • Support the evaluation of internal capabilities and third-party solutions for business need, effectiveness, scalability and fit within the product ecosystem.
