About The Position

The Product Manager - Hardware owns the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of Verifone’s global mobility hardware portfolio. The role defines and evolves mobility devices used by merchants in retail, hospitality, restaurants, delivery, field services, and other settings where commerce occurs away from a fixed counter. It evaluates market opportunities, customer needs, regulatory requirements, and mobile technology trends to guide investments from concept through launch and long-term lifecycle management. The role works closely with engineering, industrial design, platform software, certification, operations, sales, and marketing teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and competitive mobility hardware across global markets. It is hybrid and based out of Verifone’s office in Alpharetta, Georgia, or Clearwater, Florida, and requires approximately 20% travel. The position reports to the Vice President of Hardware Product Management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Strong product management experience in payment hardware, or a closely related role owning a payment solution with a significant hardware component, such as payment terminals, mPOS, handheld POS, or hardware-enabled payment platforms.
Demonstrated knowledge of payments, payment devices, and deployment and support through acquirers, payment service providers, ISVs, and resellers.
Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
Ability to read, understand, and contribute to technical documentation and specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

Experience with unattended payment environments such as kiosks, vending, transit, or EV charging.
Petroleum retail or fuel dispenser experience.
Familiarity with hardware and software development lifecycles.
Exposure to Agile development practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Knowledge of fintech, embedded systems, or secure payment technologies.
Experience with mobility devices such as handheld POS, mPOS, smartphones, rugged handhelds, or tablets.
Familiarity with payment device certification and security requirements such as EMV and PCI PTS.
Exposure to Android-based device ecosystems, mobile device management, or SoftPOS / Tap to Pay solutions.

Responsibilities

Define and own the global product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Verifone’s mobility hardware portfolio.
Evaluate business opportunities through market analysis, customer feedback, competitive assessment, and technology trends.
Optimize the hardware portfolio by balancing innovation, cost, regional requirements, and long-term platform sustainability.
Drive decisions on product investments, enhancements, variants, and end-of-life planning.
Use knowledge of the payments ecosystem and mobility use cases to inform product direction.
Engage with customers, partners, and regional teams to validate requirements and prioritize features.
Monitor global regulatory, certification, and compliance requirements affecting hardware design and deployment.
Track mobility device and component trends, including connectivity, battery life, displays, durability, ruggedization, and processor roadmaps, and assess their portfolio impact.
Work with hardware, firmware, and platform engineering teams to translate market needs into clear product requirements.
Validate early product definitions, concepts, and prototypes with customers and internal stakeholders.
Partner with Product Marketing on positioning, launch readiness, and enablement activities.
Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and quality teams to support successful product delivery at scale.
Own product definition from concept through development, launch, and ongoing evolution.
Ensure product plans align with customer timelines, certification constraints, and global rollout needs.
Act as the primary product authority for Verifone’s mobility hardware.
Travel approximately 20% for customer-site visits, regional team engagements, and industry events across global markets.
