Product Manager, Toast Ticketing

Toast
•$149,000 - $304,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Toast is hiring a senior individual contributor to own Toast Ticketing end to end. Toast Ticketing is in open beta as part of Toast Tables: restaurants on Tables Plus can enable it, sell tickets to events through their public booking pages, accept payment, and check guests in at the door. The role will guide the product from open beta through product-market fit, commercialization, general availability, and scale, including determining how ticketing fits into Toast’s guest platform and reaches venues beyond restaurants. The Product Manager reports to the Toast Tables product lead and works closely with engineers, a design partner, and go-to-market teams in sales, onboarding, and marketing. The role is highly customer-facing, with regular customer calls and on-site observation of events. Customer feedback informs the backlog, while the product manager keeps scope focused and helps the team ship the most important work. AI tools are used regularly for prototyping, research, data analysis, and checking assumptions. The position is offered remotely in the United States or in a hybrid arrangement in Boston or New York, with EST preferred. The stated base salary ranges by geographic pay zone are $190,000–$304,000 in Zone A, $165,000–$264,000 in Zone B, and $149,000–$238,000 in Zone C. Starting salary depends on skills, experience, and location. Additional total rewards may include eligible overtime, bonus or commissions, equity, and benefits.

  • Experience taking an early product from its first customers to product-market fit and meaningful growth.
  • Demonstrated product decisions informed directly by time spent with customers.
  • End-to-end ownership of a revenue-generating product, including pricing discussions, go-to-market partnership, and executive communication.
  • Ability to obtain and analyze data, set goals in advance, and revise decisions based on evidence.
  • Regular use of AI tools in work and ability to explain specific uses.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with payments, commerce, ticketing, or marketplace products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the ticketing roadmap and strategy from open beta through general availability and scale, including its role in Toast’s guest platform and expansion to venues beyond current restaurant customers.
  • Run the weekly product development loop with engineering by framing problems, deciding what to ship and why, and measuring results.
  • Identify where early customers get value and where they encounter difficulties, and use those findings to determine what to develop further or discontinue.
  • Partner with go-to-market teams and leadership on commercialization, including pricing and packaging recommendations, sales representative enablement, and the funnel from product enablement to first event and repeat selling.
  • Support live customers through enablement, tax configuration edge cases, and payment issues, and own escalations until a support process is established.
  • Set goals for and track the business’s key metrics, including restaurants selling tickets, ticket sales, and fee revenue; use data to inform course changes.
  • Spend time with customers through calls, on-site visits, and observation of events being published, sold, and run.
  • Use AI tools regularly for prototyping, research, data analysis, and evaluating ideas.

Benefits

  • The total rewards package includes equity and benefits; cash compensation may include eligible overtime and bonus or commissions.
  • Toast describes its benefits and total rewards as supporting a healthy lifestyle and flexibility for employees’ changing needs.
