About The Position

Solidroad is seeking a founding Product Manager to join their team. This role involves working directly with the founders to understand, frame, and solve customer problems, translating company direction into actionable work for engineering teams. The position is described as more than just a job, requiring a passion for product development and a desire for continuous growth. The Product Manager will shape product decisions, own roadmap components, coach team members, and push personal boundaries. The company is focused on scaling customer support using AI, generative tech, and real-time simulations, aiming to retain human warmth and empathy. The day-to-day responsibilities include owning the roadmap within a product stream, driving delivery from ambiguous problems to scoped work with clear metrics and definitions of done, and applying an evolving Shape Up-inspired product methodology. The role requires translating company strategy into clear engineering boundaries, creating cohesion across teams and offices, and maintaining tight communication loops. A significant part of the role involves deep customer engagement through user research, customer calls, and analyzing product conversations to inform development. The Product Manager will also own customer analytics, both qualitative and quantitative, defining key metrics, analyzing product usage, and using data to drive decisions. Additionally, the role involves coaching engineers on product thinking, supporting design and go-to-market strategies, and elevating product practices within the company, acting as a force multiplier for the team.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of product experience, ideally at a startup (Series A to C) or a design-conscious B2B company, where you've helped ship complex, customer-facing products that real people love using.
  • Comfortable in the data as you are in customer conversations: defining metrics, analyzing product usage, and turning qualitative and quantitative signals into decisions.
  • Strong product leadership at a senior staff or principal level: owning significant product areas from concept to launch, driving roadmaps, and leading through influence rather than authority.
  • Deep comfort with AI products, high-ownership engineering cultures, and modern product methods

Nice To Haves

  • Bonus points if you've worked on notable or challenging products we can explore together.

  • Live with customers
  • Run user research, sit in on customer calls, watch real conversations flow through the product, and bring that insight back as sharper framing.
  • Own customer analytics, qualitative and quantitative
  • Define the metrics that matter, dig into product usage and customer data to spot patterns, opportunities, and friction, and pair that with what you're hearing directly from customers.
  • Coach and multiply
  • Coach engineers on product thinking, support design and GTM, and raise the bar for how product work gets done at Solidroad.
