About The Position

As a Product Manager, Inventory Planning & Merchandising Technology at Best Buy Canada, you’ll work on the tools that help our teams decide what products to carry, where they belong, and when they’re needed. You’ll partner with business, engineering, and operations teams to deliver practical solutions that improve planning, inventory performance, profitability, and the customer experience. This role sits at the centre of merchandising, inventory, forecasting, replenishment, allocation, category management, and pricing. You’ll bring strong product thinking, sound judgment, and a practical approach to solving complex business problems at scale. We practice a remote-first working model, with opportunities to collaborate at our head office in beautiful Vancouver, BC for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes. Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of product owner or product manager experience; retail technology is an asset.
  • Experience working with merchandising, inventory planning, supply chain, forecasting, or related retail areas.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions.
  • Experience partnering with software vendors and implementation partners.
  • Ability to align data definitions across business and engineering teams.
  • Understanding of sales growth, inventory productivity, margin, and profitability.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Ability to translate complex, ambiguous business needs into clear requirements, priorities, and practical trade-offs across cross-functional teams.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts and apply a practical product mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Merchandising Business Enablement roadmap, aligned to business and technology goals.
  • Partner with business leaders to turn merchandising and inventory needs into product outcomes.
  • Prioritize the backlog across user needs, business value, complexity, dependencies, and capacity.
  • Work with software and data engineering teams to deliver iterative user value.
  • Connect inventory and assortment planning needs to practical technology solutions.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to deliver capabilities and manage dependencies.
  • Help shape merchandising and inventory planning technology strategy.
  • Balance business needs with scalable, enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Manage integrations, APIs, data flows, and partner platforms across a complex ecosystem.
  • Support communication, training, adoption, and change readiness.
  • Define and track product outcomes, adoption, efficiency, data quality, and business impact.
  • Communicate clearly, influence decisions, and align teams on priorities and trade-offs.
