About The Position

Vercel is seeking a Product Manager to join their Product team. This role will focus on Software Factory, a new product area designed to integrate AI agents into all stages of the development lifecycle, including issue triaging, planning, coding, and verification, while ensuring human oversight for critical decisions. The goal is to automate continuous software maintenance and improvement by leveraging agents to fix bugs, implement features, enhance performance, address security concerns, improve code quality, and increase test coverage. The Product Manager will report to the Product Lead and will be based in San Francisco, CA, with a hybrid work model. For those within commuting distance of Vercel offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Remote work is an option for those located further away. Specific location details can be discussed with the recruiting team.

Requirements

  • Experience working on developer tooling products, ideally in CI/CD, code review, developer productivity, or AI coding tools.
  • Deep hands-on experience with coding agents and a clear perspective on their current strengths and weaknesses.
  • Technical depth to reason about agent orchestration, evaluations, context management, and sandboxed execution.
  • Experience owning a platform area that other product teams build upon and setting technical direction that others adopt.
  • Experience with products whose output is probabilistic, including defining acceptance criteria and measuring quality over time.
  • Experience working directly with design partners or Enterprise customers on adopting new engineering workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-agent systems or agent orchestrators.
  • Experience with evaluations or systematic measurement of AI output quality.
  • Experience with products adopted bottom-up by individual developers before spreading to teams.
  • Experience running or operating a large open-source project.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Software Factory.
  • Define the workflow model for how work moves through classification, analysis, implementation, and review, including identifying points for human handoff.
  • Own the trust and quality bar, including evaluations, verification, retry behavior, and determining what the factory can handle without human approval.
  • Define how factories integrate with existing engineering tools like GitHub and Linear, and with agent harnesses such as Codex and Claude Code.
  • Define new dedicated surfaces for interacting with factory agents.
  • Shape the memory and context model that enables a factory to build cumulative knowledge of a repository over time.
  • Work directly with design partners and Enterprise customers who are adopting factories for their own codebases.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Mentorship and opportunities to attend events for networking and skill-building.
  • Flexible Time Off.
