About The Position

Airbnb is hiring a Product Manager for Social Features to lead a new pod focused on turning guests’ connections into reasons to return to Airbnb. The role owns features guests use with friends, including the travel map and sharing, group travel tools, recommendations from people they know, and connections integrated throughout the travel experience. The Product Manager will make scope and priority decisions with a dedicated engineering lead, engineers, and a design partner, and will be accountable for outcomes from product brief through launch and iteration. The role centers on growing how often guests plan, book, and share trips with people they know. It involves developing product strategy and narratives for leadership and guests, prototyping ideas with AI, setting goals and reviewing metrics, and using experiments to determine what to scale, iterate on, or stop. The successful candidate will collaborate with teams across engineering, design, data science, program management, and other Airbnb product areas. This position is US remote eligible, with work during Pacific Time Zone hours as needed. Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be expected by agreement with the manager. Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in product marketing or product management.
  • A record of improving a core consumer metric, such as engagement, retention, sharing, or conversion, through features launched under the candidate’s leadership.
  • Experience building social or network-driven products, such as sharing, invites, feeds, profiles, group features, or connection-based recommendations.
  • Daily use of AI tools for prototyping, research, specifications, and analysis, with evidence of changing how a team builds through AI.
  • Ability to work closely with engineering and design on product details, including data and edge cases.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through complex launches on time and to a high quality bar, and making fast decisions when choices are reversible.
  • Ability to define what experiments need to learn, interpret growth metrics alongside trust, privacy, and satisfaction guardrails, and apply findings to product decisions.
  • Strong judgment about consumer product quality and a high bar for craft; understanding of what makes an experience fun, useful, and worth sharing.
  • Comfort setting a roadmap and building a team’s operating rhythm in a new, fast-moving area.
  • Ability to earn the trust of engineering, design, and data science partners and lead without formal authority.
  • Clear, structured writing and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tradeoffs to executives and turn strategy into actionable team guidance.
  • Ability to work Pacific Time Zone hours as needed and reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
