About The Position

Bloomberg Media is seeking an insightful, experienced and versatile journalist to expand its culture and lifestyle coverage. The role is part of Bloomberg Media’s Ideas & Culture group, which produces premium, idea-driven journalism applying Bloomberg’s global, analytical and forward-looking perspective to forces shaping modern life. The writer will produce work for Pursuits and Bloomberg Weekend, exploring how market forces intersect with everyday life and influence consumer desires.

Requirements

At least 10 years of experience in digital or print journalism, with an extensive record of insightful, compelling and deeply reported magazine-style features across culture and lifestyle topics.
Boundless curiosity, a strong supply of ideas and a keen eye for emerging consumer and lifestyle trends.
A broad network of sources across the region, and experience securing and conducting both high-profile and deeply personal interviews.
Interest in and understanding of global financial markets and their interactions with culture and society.
Experience writing for a global audience similar to Bloomberg’s.
Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas across platforms, including audio, video and TV.
A collaborative approach, generosity in sharing ideas and willingness to support others’ work.

Experience finding and interpreting data that illuminate consumer and lifestyle trends.

Responsibilities

Write original narrative features and reported essays for Pursuits and Bloomberg Weekend.
Identify story opportunities at the intersections of culture, society, consumer behavior and economics.
Manage multiple assignments and contribute to weekly and monthly online and print publication schedules.
Collaborate with beat reporters and editors to develop ideas, data and sources, ensuring stories reflect Bloomberg’s expertise.
Integrate reporting and ideas across Bloomberg platforms, including video, audio, newsletters, TV and events.
