Product Manager, Revenue Engineering

RelayRaleigh, NC
Onsite

About The Position

Relay is building a new product area called Revenue Engineering. This area's objective is to accelerate Relay's revenue growth by owning the systems and surfaces that enable customers to transact directly within the product. This involves driving Product-Led Growth initiatives for both new customer acquisition and existing customer expansion, and establishing a unified source of truth for revenue data. The goal is to make the revenue flywheel spin faster by reducing friction and enabling automation and self-serve capabilities.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of product management experience in enterprise software or SaaS, ideally including ownership of a meaningful product surface end-to-end.
  • A track record of moving business metrics, not just shipping features.
  • Comfort at the seam between business strategy and technical systems.
  • Ability to hold your own in a pricing conversation with a CFO and in an architecture conversation with an engineer.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to frame problems, make clear recommendations, and tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Judgment, trajectory, and fit.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in billing or CPQ tooling.
  • Experience with PLG and self-serve growth.
  • Experience with RevOps platforms.
  • Experience in fintech.
  • Instinctively hunt friction and see which process steps shouldn't exist.
  • Think in flywheels and move outcomes, not just ship features.
  • Genuine curiosity about agents and automation.
  • A builder's bias toward action.
  • Comfort in ambiguity, as this product area is being defined as you join.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and execution of all Product-Led Growth initiatives, encompassing self-serve acquisition for new customers and automated, in-product revenue expansion for existing ones.
  • Establish Revenue Intelligence, a revenue data product that encodes authoritative revenue definitions and serves them to the business through various interfaces.
  • Own the full revenue chain, including order entry, internal revenue and billing surfaces, and the handoff to NetSuite.
  • Define and build customer-facing self-serve capabilities for both new logo acquisition and existing customer expansion.
  • Partner with the analytics team to encode metric definitions into tools served through Claude and other interfaces.
  • Develop the agent and automation layer that accelerates the revenue flywheel by abstracting and automating routine revenue workflows for Sales, CS, and Finance.
  • Operationalize merchandising and pricing, ensuring Revenue Strategy's decisions become live offers in the system and self-serve experience.
  • Provide context and well-framed problems to Engineering, with clear rationale for their importance.
  • Own and resolve stakeholder friction from Sales, CS, or Finance, presenting synthesized problems to Engineering.
  • Act as a calming and decisive presence, buffering against competing demands.
  • Synthesize business objectives and technical constraints, surfacing tradeoffs to product leadership for prioritization.
  • Lead with quantitative rigor, using data to measure friction, define success, and prioritize investments.
