About The Position

At Truckstop, we have transformed the entire freight-moving lifecycle with our SaaS solutions. From freight matching to payments and everything in between, we are the trusted partner for carriers, brokers, and shippers alike. We lead this industry forward with our One Team mindset committing to principles such as assume positive intent, have each other’s back, and be your authentic self. Our drive for greatness produces high expectations, yet our regard for humans is even higher. Join a team of brilliant minds and generous hearts who care deeply about other's success. Please note: This is a full-time, in-person role based at our Boise office (1444 S. Entertainment Ave., Boise, ID 83709). As the Product Manager for Rates, you will own the strategy, vision, and roadmap for Truckstop.com’s suite of freight rate intelligence products—spanning three established offerings delivered via API, embedded in our Load Board, and as a standalone experience. You will lead the strategy to enhance and/or consolidate these existing products while simultaneously driving discovery, definition, and delivery of new offerings and a next-generation rates platform. This role demands a deep understanding of truckload freight pricing mechanics, strong analytical instincts, and the ability to synthesize market signals, customer data, and competitive intelligence into compelling product experiences that help brokers and carriers make smarter pricing decisions. The Product Manager will work closely with customers, data science, engineering, other product managers, and go-to-market teams to maximize the value of Truckstop’s rates portfolio and deliver measurable business results that meet market needs and company goals.

Requirements

  • Degree(s) in Business, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, or equivalent experience; a quantitative background or advanced analytical coursework is required
  • 4+ years in product management or an analytics centric role is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a freight brokerage, TMS provider, or logistics SaaS company, with direct exposure to pricing, rates, or market intelligence products is strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with freight pricing at a brokerage—including spot rate negotiation, contract pricing, lane analysis, and margin modeling—is strongly preferred
  • Truckload Freight, Transportation, and Logistics industry experience strongly preferred; experience managing API-first or developer-facing products and proficiency with product analytics tools are strong differentiators

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for Truckstop’s Rates product portfolio, balancing near-term feature delivery against the longer-term consolidation of existing products into a unified next-generation rates platform.
  • Lead discovery, definition, and delivery of new and improved rates solutions—leveraging customer interviews, market research, and freight pricing expertise to identify, validate, and prioritize high-impact opportunities.
  • Apply deep knowledge of truckload freight pricing dynamics—including spot rates, contract pricing, lane-level analysis, and margin modeling—to define differentiated product requirements and shape Truckstop’s rates intelligence strategy.
  • Prepare short- and long-term product roadmaps aligned to company strategy; facilitate roadmap reviews and prioritization discussions with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Engage directly with broker and carrier customers to understand their pricing workflows, pain points, and decision-making contexts; translate insights into product requirements and user stories.
  • Build and maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive rates intelligence landscape, including first- and third-party data providers, TMS integrations, and emerging AI-driven pricing tools.
  • Define and track product KPIs, usage analytics, and business metrics; translate data insights into actionable product improvements and strategic recommendations for leadership.
  • Partner with Data Science to define, evaluate, and continuously improve the models and signals powering rates products, ensuring outputs are accurate, explainable, and actionable for end users.
  • Develop ROI models and business cases for new rates features and products; partner with Finance and Product Marketing to evaluate market opportunity, set pricing strategy, and plan go-to-market execution.
  • Define clear product requirements, acceptance criteria, and success metrics; partner with engineering, UX, and data science to deliver high-quality, on-time releases.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Product Marketing on go-to-market strategy, positioning, and enablement for rates product launches and enhancements.
  • Facilitate multi-functional communication and decision-making by collaborating with other Product Managers, Data Science, User Experience, Marketing & Development teams.
  • Establish data-driven frameworks and KPIs to monitor product adoption, customer engagement, and revenue impact, driving continuous improvement across the rates portfolio.
