Product Manager, Platform

TrueML
•$85,000 - $120,000•Remote

About The Position

TrueML is on a mission to humanize the recovery process for distressed borrowers through AI and machine learning. A lot of that mission runs on systems we have been operating for years. They are not the newest thing we have built, but they carry a large share of our client volume, our consumer outcomes, and our revenue. As a Product Manager, you own those systems and lead the team that keeps them running and getting better. You are the person clients and internal teams come to when something needs to change, get fixed, or just be explained. You also keep the domain teams who are rebuilding this functionality on the new platform up to date on what your team is doing and why.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in Product Management, with a track record of shipping products that moved revenue.
  • Comfortable in front of clients, executives, and senior internal partners, in a room or in writing.
  • Ability to listen well, ask the question behind the question, and say no clearly while leaving people feeling heard.
  • Ability to provide precise requirements to engineering regarding the problem, constraints, and definition of done.
  • Ability to set direction, unblock people, raise the bar, and own the result.
  • Enjoy taking something messy and making it reliable, understandable, and more valuable.
  • Ability to read an integration spec, reason about data flows and dependencies, and hold your own with engineers on the cost of changes.
  • Ability to look at performance data yourself when needed.
  • Ability to take conflicting inputs and partial information and turn them into solid, actionable plans.
  • Maintain a reliable internet connection and a professional work environment.
  • Ability to protect confidential company, employee, customer, and business information while working outside of a company office.

Nice To Haves

  • Fintech, collections, lending, or other regulated financial services experience.
  • B2B2C experience balancing what the client configures against what the consumer sees.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap, the backlog, the trade-offs, and the health of these products.
  • Set the direction, keep priorities clear, protect their focus, and hold a high bar for the dedicated engineering capacity.
  • Spend time with clients, Client Success, Operations, and Compliance to understand user needs and translate them to the right team.
  • Communicate with domain teams about what your team is building and changing, what it does, and why it exists, to aid their planning.
  • Triage fast, prioritize, and keep stakeholders in the loop on escalations and compliance matters.
  • Work with Legal and Compliance to ensure every change adheres to FDCPA, Reg F, and TCPA.
  • Develop a clear point of view on what functionality stays, moves to the new platform, or is turned off.
  • Sequence and run migrations so clients experience minimal disruption.
  • Document how these systems work and ensure Operations, Client Success, and Compliance have necessary runbooks, training, and metrics before shipping.
